Slice of Life Day 10 - We Made It!

Whew!  We made it!  Google Maps said that it was a seven and a half hour trip to Belton, Texas.  We left our house at 9:15 a.m. after Tom and Sarah got back from renting a U-haul trailer.  Of course Tom was busy with other things yesterday, so he had to go to the bank and wash the truck and fix the lights on the back of the truck so that they would work with the trailer and get gas.  Sarah told us that we needed to leave at 7:00, but we didn't really believe her because Google Maps says it is a seven and a half hour trip!  So it is 11:30 p.m. and we just got to our hotel after getting Sarah and her things unloaded at her new apartment.  Fourteen hours after we left the house, I am here in a nice hotel room writing my blog.  It was supposed to have rained today.  That is why we got the U-haul, but it never did.  It was a beautiful day for traveling.  There was lots and lots of traffic and road construction!  We only stopped two times.  We stopped for gas and lunch at McCallisters after we got out of the Fort Worth area.  Then we stopped for gas and dinner at Dairy Queen after we got out of Waco.  We were thinking about coming to San Antonio for a little vacation in May after school is out, but I am not sure I really want to drive it again so soon.  We still have to drive again all day on Sunday to get home.  Once again, though, I am thankful that we made it safely.  Sweet dreams!
