Slice of Life Day 11 - Saying Goodbye

We knew this day was coming.  We knew we were going to have to say goodbye to Sarah.  It is part of life.  We are excited for her to have this opportunity.  She is starting a new job on Monday as the Marketing Director for a Chick-filet in Killeen, Texas.  We moved her into a nice apartment in Belton, Texas, with not one but two swimming pools and a fitness center.  She will live with her good friend Olivia from high school who is in nursing school at Mary Hardin Baylor University.    It seems like a nice, safe place, but it is just so far from home that we can't just jump in the car and go see her anymore. However, Olivia's family lives in Webb City, so she will come home to visit in May and Sarah will come with her.  That is only a couple of months and I'll be so busy at school that it will be here in no time.

It is comforting to know where she is and to have the mental picture of her apartment.  We had lunch with her at her new store so we can see her there is our minds.  Sarah is very good at calling and keeping in touch, so that helps a lot.  Saying goodbye was an emotional time for her as well.  She is brave to take this leap of faith and start a new adventure.  We're very proud of her.

We also drove to Waco today and got to see Magnolia Farms and the silos.  That was fun to see the place where our favorite HGTV show, "Fixer Upper," is based.

Now it is time for rest before we set out for the long drive back home tomorrow.

  1. I'm hoping to go to Magnolia Farms with my mom this summer!! "Fixer Upper" is one of my family's favorite shows as well. I'm glad you got the chance to go since you were already in Texas. :)
